BU men's soccer clinches postseason home game with 1-0 victory over UNH
Freshman Tommy Klim netted the game-winner in the 105th minute of double-overtime

Game File

VESTAL, N.Y.-- Tommy Klim netted a game-winner in the 105th minute of the second sudden-death overtime period as Binghamton (5-6-4, 3-2-2 AE) defeated the University of New Hampshire (7-4-5, 2-3-2 AE) 1-0 in a pivotal battle for postseason seeding Saturday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex. BU's third conference win of the season ensures at least a fourth place finish and a home game next Saturday in the first round of the conference tournament.

Klim's lone goal of the season came off a Ryan Walter corner kick with 4:55 remaining in the second overtime period. The goal marks the 10th overtime game-winner in the program's Division I history and the second of the season. Senior forward Scott Zobre added the game-winner in the team's 2-1 double-overtime win over Hartford earlier this year.

Freshman goalkeeper Chris Hayen recorded his fourth shutout of the season and managed to save the only shot allowed on goal all game.

Binghamton outshot UNH 15-3 for the match, including a 5-0 advantage in the overtime periods.

Binghamton hosts Bucknell in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
