Binghamton men's soccer loses 2-0 at Vermont

Box Score

BURLINGTON, VT. -- Junior midfielder Jordan Crasilneck and sophomore forward T.J. Gore each netted a first-half goal, leading Vermont (5-9-2, 3-2-2 AE) to a 2-0 win over visiting Binghamton (12-5-0, 4-3-0 AE) in an America East men's soccer game on Wednesday afternoon. The loss was their third straight conference road defeat.

Senior forward Tyler Hasman set up both Vermont goals, which came in the first 12:05 of the contest. In the fourth minute, Hasman worked the ball free in front of the Binghamton goal. He sent a short crossing pass to Crasilneck who from 18 yards drilled a low shot just inside the right post. At 12:05, a one touch pass by Hasman found Gore at the top of the penalty area and he beat Bearcats keeper Jason Stenta with another low blast to the right side.

The Catamounts defense took over from there allowing just one shot in the first half and six in the second. Vermont outshot the Bearcats 11-7 for the game and 4-1 in the first half.

Binghamton concludes the regular season at Stony Brook on Saturday at 1 p.m.
