EASTON, Pa.-- Stephen Paresi and Kevin Garcia each netted a goal, leading Villanova (2-1-1) to a 2-1 win over Binghamton (2-1-0) in the opening round of the Lafayette Soccer Classic on Friday at Oakes Stadium.

Paresi scored the only goal of the first half, finishing off a cross in the 36th minute. In the 79th minute, Garcia increased the lead to 2-0. Less than a minute later, freshman forward Jake Keegan netted an unassisted goal for the Bearcats. The Wildcats, however, protected the lead the final 10 minutes in regulation.
