Zobre named America East Conference Rookie of the Week

VESTAL, N.Y. - Freshman Scott Zobre (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) has been named the America East Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for Sept. 17-23. He is the third Binghamton player to receive a weekly accolade in the past four weeks.

Zobre scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute during Binghamton's 2-1 victory at Hartwick on Saturday night. It was his first collegiate goal and helped the Bearcats improve to 6-2-0 on the season.

Three weeks ago, sophomore goalkeeper Jason Stenta (Binghamton, N.Y.) was named the America East Player of the Week. Senior back Adam Chavez (Endicott, N.Y.) earned Co-Player honors the following week.

The Bearcats host Cornell at 7 p.m. Saturday in their home opener. It will mark their first-ever game at the new Bearcats Sports Complex.
