Sophomore Nolan Slesnick and junior Amanda Ciccone named America East Swimmers of the Week

VESTAL, N.Y. -- After solid victories over conference rival Stony brook on Saturday afternoon, sophomore Nolan Slesnick and junior Amanda Ciccone were honored for their contributions by the conference with America East Swimmer of the Week awards.

Slesnick won three individual events including the 500 free (4:43.21) and 1,000 free (9:45.94). Slesnick ranks in the top-10 in the America East performance list for the 500 free and now moves into the top-five in the 1,000 free. After winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:12.08 on Saturday, Selesnick claims seventh place in the conference standings.

Ciccone spearheaded the big win by winning three individual titles and participating in the winning 400 free relay (3:38.18). Ciccone swept the freestyle events, winning the 50 (24.38), the 100 (53.06) and 200 free (1:53.63). Ciccone is now tied for third in the 200 free conference standings.

The Bearcats are now preparing for the America East Championships at Boston University held on February 25-28.
