Junior Jason Chen and Sophomore Nick Turner capture the first America East Swimmer and Diver of the Week Honors

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Junior Jason Chen picked up a pair of wins while Sophomore Nick Turner captured the three-meter board in the Bearcat’s season opening meet at the WNY Invitational against Niagara, St. Bonaventure, and Buffalo. The wins garnered recognition as the first America East Swimmer and Diver of the week.

Chen showed off his multifaceted swimming skills and touched first in the 200 IM (1:57.67) and the 100 fly (52.16) while placing third in the 100 breast (1:02.00) and the 100 free (47.73).

Turner picked up the lone diving win of the meet, taking the three-meter diving title with a zone qualifying score of 322.00. He also came in third on the one-meter board with a score of 253.65.

The Bearcat men and women have a three week break before they are back in action hosting Boston University, with UVM, Saturday, October 31. The meet begins at 1 p.m.
