Binghamton Men's Swimmer David Holmes finishes in 22nd at NCAA Championship
Day 1 Results
Minneapolis, Minn.-- Binghamton University senior swimming standout David Holmes (Doncaster, England) captured 22nd place in the 200 freestyle on the second day of the NCAA Swimming Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Holmes touched the wall with a final time of 1:36.23, leaving him 0.54 seconds off a top-16 finish - which would have earned All-America honors. On Thursday, he made his championship debut with a 27th place showing in 500 free (4:23.81).
Holmes will now save his energy up for one final push tomorrow morning as he competes in the 200 butterfly. He enters Saturday's preliminaries seeded 30th. Action begins at noon.
