Swimming and Diving Teams ranked 13th in Mid-Major Poll
VESTAL, N.Y. -- The men's swimming and diving team have tested themselves against tough opponents early in this season, and that hard work is not going unnoticed. In a poll by collegeswimming.com released last week the Bearcats were ranked in 13th place.
Binghamton has played a tough schedule earlier this season, as is reflected in the polls. Two of the Bearcats three losses come to UMass and perennial conference powerhouse rival UMBC. UMass is ranked ninth, while UMBC slides in at 12th, one spot above Binghamton.
Binghamton enjoys a spot above opponents such as St. Bonaventure, Towson, Bucknell and LaSalle. The Bearcats defeated Towson and LaSalle in the Bucknell tournament on the weekend of November 22 while falling to the hosts. However, Binghamton comes out on top in the polls. The last higher ranked team on the Bearcats schedule is Cornell who comes in at second place.
Binghamton lost close matches to both UMass and UMBC earlier this season, and will be looking to stumble up Cornell at home next on Saturday, December sixth starting at 12 p.m.
