Swimming and Diving falls to visiting Vermont 165-134
VESTAL, N.Y. -- The Binghamton University women's swimming and diving squad fell to visiting Vermont 165-134 Sunday afternoon from the Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center.
"We swam really well today, but Vermont has really improved dramatically in the past couple years," said head swim coach Sean Clark. "They had too much for us, but that didn't stop us from putting up a great fight."
Freshman Brittany Detlef (Rochester, N.Y.) was a double-event winner pacing the women's efforts. Detlef won the 200-fly in 2:13.70 and the 100-fly in 59.78. She now has a team-high eight wins on the season.
Classmate Danielle Gallo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) also recorded a victory for the Bearcats. Gallo won the 100-breast in 1:09.90 .
The Binghamton teams will be back in action on Saturday, January 26 at 1 p.m. when they host Colgate in the final dual meet before the America East Championships on February 14 at the University of Maine.
