men's tennis trio heads America East All-Academic Team
VESTAL, N.Y. -- Three Binghamton men's tennis players earned selection to the America East Men's Tennis All-Academic Team, the conference announced on Tuesday. Binghamton has produced 13 academic recipients since the award was created in the 2005-06 year.
Vloedgraven, the reigning Male Scholar-Athlete for the entire conference (all sports), has a 3.83 grade-point average in accounting. It's the third year that Vloedgraven has earned a place on the All-Academic Team. Jain has a 3.39 in management and is making his second appearance on the team. Wong carries a 3.79 GPA in accounting and will graduate in just three years. He is a repeat selection from 2010.
Headed by its three graduating senior starters, BU captured its fourth straight America East crown this spring and seventh in the last nine years. Head coach Adam Cohen's team advanced to the NCAA tournament where their season ended with a 4-0 loss to 12th-seeded UCLA last Friday.
Vloedgraven, ranked No. 77 in the country, will represent the team at the NCAA Singles Championship, which begins May 25 at Stanford.
