VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton University men's tennis player Pierre Clavel (Lyon, France) was selected as the America East Rookie of the Year after an outstanding freshman season.

Clavel helped the Bearcats win nine dual matches and place third in the conference. He went 21-14 in singles, primarily at the second spot. At the America East Championship, he recorded a win in BU's quarterfinal victory over Hartford and also scored a singles victory against eventual champion UMBC in the semifinals. In addition to the Rookie honors, Clavel was named second team all-conference.

Fellow freshman Moshe Levy (Ra'ananna, Israel) joined Clavel for all-conference doubles honors. The pair earned second team honors at the No. 3 position.
