Immediate Release: April 27, 2007 NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Fourth-seeded Binghamton (8-10) won the first four singles matches contested to clinch a 4-0 win over fifth-seeded Hartford in the America East Championship quarterfinals Friday afternoon at the Yale Indoor Courts. The win advances the Bearcats to a semifinal matchup with top-seeded UMBC Saturday at 10 a.m. The Retrievers posted a 6-1 win over Binghamton on April 14. The Bearcats used wins at 2-3-4-5 to clinch the match. Freshman Pierre Clavel (Lyon, France) earned his 20th win of the season with a straight-set triumph at second singles. Classmate Reina Kohtake (Fukioka, Japan) didn't drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5. Since the match was moved indoors, the format was switched to singles-first, followed by doubles only if necessary. Binghamton
