Vestal, N.Y.--Junior Steve Spencer (Plantation, Fla./ Nova) won both at second doubles and fifth singles, while senior Brad Davidoff (Roslyn, N.Y.) pulled off the clinching victory at second singles, leading Binghamton (3-1) to a dramatic 4-3 win over Buffalo in men's tennis action on Saturday. The dual competition, which began at 3 p.m. had to be moved indoors due to darkness and was not completed until Saturday evening.

The Bearcats and Bulls played even the entire day and with one match to be completed, the score was tied 3-3. Davidoff and Nick Zieziula of Buffalo were deadlocked in the decisive match at second singles. After splitting the first two sets, Davidoff and Zieziula went to a tiebreaker in the third and final set. It was then that Davidoff finished off the match with an 8-6 win in the tiebreaker, giving Binghamton a 4-3 victory.

"It was an unbelievable day," head coach Michael Starke said. "It was pretty loud during that final match but Brad came through and got it done."

Spencer was Binghamton's lone double winner on the day. He teammed with sophomore Krishna Vallabhaneni (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) at second doubles to win 8-6. The Bulls, however, won the other two doubles matches to take the doubles point.

Sophomore Akshay Rao (New Delhi, India) remained undefeated for the season, winning at first singles over Fery Kasiman 6-3, 6-4. His season record now stands at 11-0, including a 4-0 mark in dual competition.
