| Rao captures Cornell Invitational |

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Sophomore tennis player Akshay Rao (New Delhi, India) captured the "A" singles flight at the Cornell Invitational on Sunday, completing a tournament in which he won all four of his matches. Rao defeated an opponent from Yale 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals before advancing to the championship. Rao also defeated an opponent from Army who is regionally ranked. The Cornell Invitational included squads from Yale, Army, Maryland-Baltimore Country, and the University of Connecticut. Freshman Jordan Steinberg (Suffern, N.Y.) won his first match in the "C" singles flight, 6-3, 6-1 over an opponent from Stony Brook, before falling 6-2, 2-6, 2-6 to an opponent from Connecticut.
