BU men's tennis loses to Dartmouth 5-2

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Binghamton University men's tennis (1-3) dropped a 5-2 decision to Dartmouth Sunday afternoon at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center in West Point.

The Bearcats won all three doubles matches to capture the doubles point but then the Big Green (1-1) responded with five singles wins.

Freshman Sven Vloedgraven (Lochem, Netherlands) picked up BU's lone singles win - a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at the sixth spot.

"I was pleased to see us play strong again in doubles," head coach Adam Cohen said. "However, we came out flat in singles after securing the doubles point and lost the first set in each singles match. The momentum had swung in their favor and it was hard to get it back. Sven (Vloedgraven) played his second dual match for us and gave a great effort at No. 6 singles."

Binghamton next plays at Boston College on February 9.
