BU men's tennis falls to Harvard 5-2
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Host Harvard (7-6) captured the doubles point and won four of the six singles matches to defeat visiting Binghamton men's tennis (2-9) 5-2 Friday night at the Murr Center Tennis Courts.
Binghamton's top two players were victorious in singles. Seniors Sven Vloedgraven and Arnav Jain rolled to straight-set wins with Vloedgraven (19-7, overall, 8-2 duals), ranked 79th, dropping just four games in his match and Jain improving to 14-8 overall and a team-best 9-2 in duals with his win. Jain also won his doubles match at the second spot with junior Alexandre Haggai.
But continuing a pattern early this spring, BU was beaten at the bottom of the lineup - though the Bearcats forced third sets in the matches at No. 3 and No. 5 singles.
The Bearcats will face another Ivy League foe, Yale, Saturday afternoon.
