The pair was then eliminated with an 8-4 loss to the 14th-seeded team, David Rosenfeld and Christian Guevara of Virginia Tech in the round of 32.

The other doubles team of seniors Richemn Mourad (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Edwin Gerard (Bayside, N.Y.) lost 8-4 in their first-round match against ninth-seeded Sasha Ermakov and Brian Wan of Harvard.

In singles, Martinez was defeated by Brian Hartness of Boston College, 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 in the first round.
