men's tennis sends four to Princeton Farnsworth Invitational PRINCETON, N.J. -- Binghamton men's tennis sent four players to the Farnsworth Invitational, hosted by Princeton at the Lenz Tennis Center. The 10-team event featured five singles and three doubles flights. Senior Rafael Rodrigues enjoyed the most success, winning two matches to reach the semifinals in the "E" singles flight. Rodrigues posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over an opponent from FDU and a 6-2, 7-5 win over a player from Princeton before falling in three sets to Ian Laster of Columbia, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Rodrigues also paired with sophomore Ruben Haggai in the "C" doubles flight, where the tandem went 1-2, earning an 8-3 win over a team from Princeton. Haggai also notched a win in three matches in the "D" singles flight. Also competing were freshmen Jonathen Hefetz and Ismael Dinia. Dinia won a match at "C" singles and the pair also won a match in "B" doubles. The Bearcats will continue their fall season at the Virginia Plus 1 Invitational next weekend. |
