Binghamton men's tennis earns final regional ranking of 13th
BU cracks Northeast region elite after championship season

ITA Northeast Region Rankings

VESTAL, N.Y. -- After earning the program's fourth NCAA tournament berth in the last six years, Binghamton men's tennis received a final ranking of 13th in the ITA Northeast Region. It is the first time BU has earned a spot in the region since the 2004-05 season, when it finished 12th.

The Bearcats won 13 matches and captured the America East Championship with a riveting 4-3 comeback victory over UMBC in the title match. Among the team's triumphs during 2007-08 was a 4-3 win over a Cornell team that was positioned No. 5 in the rankings. In all, BU's tough schedule featured matchups with the region's top five teams (Penn State, Harvard, Brown, Columbia and Cornell) and 10 of the 15 teams in the final poll.

Head coach Adam Cohen was named conference Coach of the Year and freshman Arnav Jain (Mumbai, India) was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. In addition, six players earned all-conference honors.
