Binghamton men's tennis blanks Siena 7-0 in season-opening dual match

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton men's tennis (1-0) rolled over visiting Siena (1-2) 7-0 in the team's dual match opener Wednesday afternoon at the West Gym Courts. The Bearcats won all three doubles matches and then didn't drop a set in recording six singles wins.

Binghamton sophomore No. 1 Alex Dobrin (Flushing, N.Y.) posted a 6-2, 6-2 win and junior transfer Aurelio Martinez (Oaxaca, Mexico) scored a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 2 singles.

"It's a good start," head coach Michael Starke said. "Siena was an improved team with some good freshman at the top of their lineup. I thought we handled ourselves quite well out there. This sets us up nicely for the Cornell Invitational this weekend."

The Bearcats next head to the Cornell Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
