BU men's tennis rolls past America East rival UMBC 6-1

BALTIMORE, Md. -- In a rematch of last spring's America East championship match, defending champion Binghamton men's tennis (9-3) swept all six singles matches to post a 6-1 victory over UMBC (5-4) Saturday afternoon - the team's fourth consecutive victory.

"It was a good performance in singles, from No. 1 to No. 6," head coach Adam Cohen said.

Freshman Gilbert Wong improved to 24-6 overall with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win at fourth singles. Sophomore Sven Vloedgraven raised his record to 19-7, 10-2 in duals with a straight-set win at second singles.

Binghamton plays at George Washington on Sunday.
