BU men's tennis beats UMBC 4-0 to reach America East final
NEW
HAVEN, Conn. -- Second-seeded Binghamton men's tennis (13-7)
grabbed the doubles point and won the first three completed singles
matches to post a 4-0 win over No. 3 UMBC Saturday morning from
the Yale Tennis Center. The Bearcats now advance to the conference
championship match Sunday morning, when they will face top-seeded
Stony Brook.
Sophomore
Sven Vloedgraven clinched the
match with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at first singles. Vloedgraven improved
to 25-9 overall, 16-4 in duals. Also winning in singles were
sophomore Arnav Jain and freshman Rafael Rodrigues at Nos. 4 and 6 respectively.
Jain is 21-12 overall.
The
Bearcats have won four of the last six America East championships.
