Binghamton men's tennis defeats Valparaiso 5-2

ORLANDO, Fla. - Binghamton men's tennis (9-5) won for the fourth time in five matches with a 5-2 victory over Valparaiso (2-7) Wednesday morning. The Bearcats captured the doubles point before winning four of six singles matches.

Junior Aurelio Martinez (Oaxaca, Mexico) won his match at second doubles and then rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 win at fourth singles. Martinez won the third-set super tiebreak, 10-8. Sophomore Mark Piro (Clifton Park, N.Y.) won at sixth singles for the third straight match. Piro raised his overall record to 13-4.

Binghamton concludes it spring break trip with a match against Carthage Thursday at noon.
