Meet Results

VESTAL, N.Y.-- Sophomore Erik van Ingen won the men's 1,500, highlighting Binghamton's performance in the second and final day of the America East Conference Track & Field Championships at the East Gym Track Complex on Sunday afternoon. The Bearcat men finished third out of nine teams while the women were fifth. Albany swept both the men's and women's team titles.

van Ingen, who has already qualified for the NCAA Regional Meet, came from behind in the final 200 to record a time of 3:51.54. He is the third Binghamton athlete to win an event this weekend, joining freshman Robb Quiller (men's pole vault) and junior Kiki Gifft (women's pole vault).

On the women's side, junior Caitlyn Wright finished second in the 400 hurdles, but qualified for the NCAA Regional Meet with a time of 1:00.21. The standard for the regional meet is 1:00.82. In addition, Wright also broke her own school record, which was 1:01.54.

Senior Joanel Lopez was second in the men's shot put, recording an IC4A-qualifying distance of 53-08. Junior Jasmine Hinson was second in the women's 400 (56.36) while senior Marsha Fiesinger was the runner up in the pentathlon (4,202).
