sends team members to Collegiate Open Day 1 Meet Results Day 2 Meet Results NEW YORK, N.Y.--Members of the men's and women's indoor track teams competed in the Collegiate Open on Friday and Saturday. The event was held at the New York City Armory. Other members of both teams traveled to Ithaca, N.Y. to compete in Cornell's Kane Invitational. Senior Francisco Savinon (Franklin Square, N.Y.) recorded Binghamton's top performance. Savinon raced to a first-place finish in the 800 meter run, crossing in 1:54.60. In the 4x400 meter relay, Binghamton's quartet of sophomore Hasani Hampden (Freeport, N.Y.), freshman Matt Nolan (Rockville Centre, N.Y.), Savinon and senior Mike Stewart (Massapequa, N.Y.) placed fifth in section 2, posting a time of 3:22.68. Both teams will bring a full squad to the 2003 America East Championship on Friday and Saturday. The meet will be hosted on the campus of Boston University. The indoor track season concludes on March 8-9 with the IC4A/ECAC Championship meet. That meet is held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. |
