Men's 400 relay team wins at Bucknell 5-Way Track & Field Meet
WEST POINT, N.Y.-- Senior Adam Goldberg (New Rochelle, N.Y.) freshman Jimmy Massar (Johnson City, N.Y.), and seniors Hasani Hampden (Freeport, N.Y.) and Joe Flucus (Bronx, N.Y.) led the men's 400 relay team to victory, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the Bucknell 5-Way Track and Field Meet. In the team standings, the Bearcats were fourth out of five teams with 82 points while in the women's meet, they were sixth out of six teams with 30 points.
The winning relay quartet clocked a time of 43.08. Flucus also placed second in the 100 (11.34), Hampden was third in the 110 hurdles (16.06), Massar was fourth in the 400 (50.15) and Goldberg was sixth in the 110 hurdles (17.93).
In the throwing events, junior Kevin Hall (Glen Falls, N.Y.) was second in the shotput (15.26 meters), sophomore Ben Babcock (New Paltz, N.Y.) was second in the discus (39.77) and senior Paddy Hennessy (Selkirk, N.Y.) was second in the discus.
On the women's side, sophomore Jessica Picca (Shoreham, N.Y.) was second in the 400 hurdles (1:08.70) while sophomore Aja Phipps (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) and freshman Marsha Fiesinger (North Syracuse, N.Y.) tied for second in the high jump (1.50 meters).
Next weekend, Binghamton will have runners at both the Penn Relays (Thursday-Saturday) and Cornell Invitational (Sunday).
