Immediate Release: April 3, 2004 VESTAL, N.Y. - Senior Gabe Fletcher (Binghamton, N.Y.) won three events and sophomore distance runner Erica Angell (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) set a school record in the 10,000 meters, leading Binghamton to a strong showingat the non-scoring BU Invitational on Saturday. The other teams participating were Hamilton College and SUNY Delhi. Fletcher won the shot put (47-feet-7 3/4), discus (143-7) and hammer throw (167-8). Angell shattered the school record in the 10,000, crossing first in 36:53.08. That time, which meets the ECAC qualifying standard, broke the old record of 38:16.43, set by Lauren Tuchband in 2002. |
