Graduate student Rory
Quiller (West Point, N.Y.) placed second in the pole
vault at the Collegiate Open in New York City on Saturday afternoon.
His height of 17-4 1/2 was second to Jordan Scott of Kansas (18-0
1/2).
While Quiller and eight other Bearcat athleties were competing
at the Collegiate Open, the rest of the men's and women's teams
took part in the Cornell Open. The Bearcats' most noteworthy
performance was turned in by junior Adam
Hill (Delmar, N.Y.), whose fourth-place mile time of
4:21.1 broke the indoor school record. The previous mark of 4:21.2
was set by Paul Mucci, way back in 1973.
Binghamton hosts a tri-meet against Albany and Syracuse on Friday
at 5 p.m. at the Events Center.
