BOSTON, Mass. - The Binghamton track & field teams continued their indoor seasons at the ECAC/IC4A meet this weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center. The men placed 22nd out of 52 scoring teams in the IC4A meet while the women were 47th out of 51 scoring teams at the ECAC championships.
Junior Cazal Arnett placed fifth in the 400 and in the process, lowered his NCAA provisional qualifying time to 46.91. The final list of NCAA qualifiers will be released on Monday.
Arnett also also anchored the sixth-place 4x400 relay team which also included juniors Christian Smith and Andy Haupt as well as freshman Zach Keefer. The quartet posted a time of 3:12.29.
Sophomore Michael Schieck was sixth in the 1,000 (2:29.56)
On the women's side, the 4x400 relay team of freshman Jessica Hennig and seniors Jasmine Hinson, Hana Wright and Caitlin Wright placed seventh with a school-record time of 3:46.60. The old mark of 3:47.47 was set during the 2007 outdoor season. The previous indoor mark of 3:48.84 was also set three seasons ago.
In addition to Anett, junior Erik van Ingen, has also met a NCAA provisional qualifying time this season. He clocked a 3:59.58 in the mile at the Penn State National Open back on Jan. 30.
The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held March 12-13 at the University of Arkansas.
