van Ingen hits NCAA Regional qualifying time again in 1,500

Sophomore Erik van Ingen won the 1,500 at the Princeton/Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday, meeting the NCAA Regional Qualifying Standard for the second time in as many weeks. The rest of the Bearcats were at the Bucknell team challenge, where senior Justin Hidalgo won the men's hammer throw.

van Ingen's first-place time of 3:46.19 eclipsed his previous best time of 3:47.45, which he recorded last week at the Bucknell Invitational. The standard for the NCAA Regional Meet, which will be held May 29-30 in Greensboro, N.C., is 3:47.80.

Hidalgo, meanwhile, recorded a first-place distance of 178-10 in the hammer. In the process, he qualified for the IC4A championships.

On the women's side, freshman Kaitlin Sullivan placed second in the 110 hurdles (15.13) and junior Caitlin Wright was second in the 400 hurdles (1:03.41)
