Update after Day One of Penn State National Indoor Track Open
STATE COLLEGE, Pa.-- Senior Paddy Hennessy (Selkirk, N.Y.) placed eighth in the 35 lb. weight throw with a distance of 55-5 1/2 feet. Also on the men's side, senior Adam Goldberg (New Rochelle, N.Y.) broke the school record in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.32 seconds. The previous mark of 8.33 seconds was established by teammate Rory Quiller (West Point, N.Y.) last season.
On the women's side, freshman Katie Radzik (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) was 10th overall in the 5,000 with a time of 17:31.4. She was second in the unseeded heat and in the process, qualified for the ECAC Indoor Championships, which will be held in March.
The Penn State National Open continues on Saturday. In addition, several other members of both the men's and women's teams will be at the Colgate Invitational, also on Saturday.
