Quiller and Williams lead Binghamton at Day Two of Coastal Carolina/Shamrock Track & Field Invitational
Day One Results
CONWAY, S.C. - Junior pole vaulter Rory Quiller (West Point, N.Y.) qualified for the NCAA Regional meet and freshman Kim Williams (Buffalo, N.Y.) won the women's 200, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the second and final day of the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Track & Field Invitational. No team scores were kept.
Quiller, who redshirted during the indoor season, won the men's pole vault on Saturday with an outdoor school record height of 17-0 3/4. In the process, he met both the NCAA Regional and IC4A standards for the third consecutive season. Last year, Quiller advanced to the NCAA Indoor Championships and placed 12th in the pole vault.
Williams, meanwhile, broke the school record in the women's 200 with a time of 25.13. She also placed third in the 100 (12.51).
Two other Bighamton athletes met the ECAC/IC4A qualifying standards. Senior Hasani Hampden (Freeport, N.Y.) was third in the men's 400 hurdles (53.41) while sophomore Dayna Johnson (Brentwood, N.Y.) placed fourth in the women's triple jump (39-1 3/4).
Senior Joy Romulus (Washingtonville, N.Y.) placed second in the women's 800 (2:18).
