Binghamton University track and field coach Mike Thompson will be honored this fall by his alma mater, University of Northern Colorado. Thompson, who competed in track and field from 1986-89, is one of five individuals and two teams that will be enshrined into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame on September 19 in Greeley, Colorado.

Thompson was the NCAA Division II indoor and outdoor pole vault champion in 1989. He also earned All-America honors in 1988, and was a four-time North Central Conference pole vault champion and three-time NCC placewinner in the decathlon.

At Binghamton, Thompson has produced 32 All-Americans, including eight national champions, five runners-up and five third-place performers. He is entering his ninth year as head men's and women's coach in 2003-04.
