Binghamton track & field competes at Wake Forest Invitational
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- Freshmen Jeff Martinez and Lindsay Raulli and junior Casey Quaglia all won individual events, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the Wake Forest Outdoor Track & Field Invitational this past weekend. There was no team scoring at the meet.
A 2009 graudate of nearby Johnson City High School who won the New York State outdoor title in the two-mile run, Martinez clocked a winning time of 14:40.49 this past weekend. He won the race by eight seconds.
Raulli, meanwhile, took top honors in the women's 3,000 steeplechase (11:01.16). As for Quaglia, his winning time of 3:50.48 in the men's 1,500 met the IC4A qualifying standard.
Elsewhere in the men's side, junior Adam Quinn was second in the 3,000 steeplechase (9:23.53) and Robb Quiller was third in the pole vault.
The Bearcat women were led by junior Nandi Dozier-Lewis, who was fourth in the triple jump (37-0) and senior Kiki Gifft, who took sixth in the pole vault (11-5 3/4).
Binghamton returns to action April 2-3 at the Princeton /Sam Howll Invitational.
