Men finish sixth, women place seventh at America East Conference Championships

BOSTON, N.Y.--The Binghamton University cross country teams competed at the 2002 America East Conference cross country championships today, with the men finishing sixth out of nine teams and the women finishing in seventh place. The men improved upon their seventh-place finish of a year ago while the women maintaining the ir 2001 finish. Boston won the women's team title while New Hampshire captured the men's crown.

Sophomore Peter Chambers (Newark, N.Y.) was Binghamton's top finisher on the men's side, placing 27th in a time of 26:16 for the 8,000 meter course. Freshman Prahlad Genung (Afton, N.Y.) was the next Bearcat runner across the line, placing 32nd in a time of 26:44.

On the women’s side, freshman Stacey Kramer (Londonville, N.Y./ Colonie Central) was Binghamton's top finisher, placing 24th in a time of 19:00 for the 5,000 meter course. Fellow freshman Erin Yaichuk (Groton, N.Y.) was Binghamton's second runner, placing 31st in a time of 19:12.
