Hill and Razik win Colgate Harry Lang Invitational
HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Freshmen Adam Hill (Delmar, N.Y.) and Katie Radzik (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) opened up the 2005 cross country season by capturing the individual titles at the Colgate Harry Lang Invitational. Teamwise, the Binghamton men's team won the five-team meet for the first time while the women's team tied Colgate for first place.
Hill won the men's 7,800 meter race with a time of 26:38. He finished 10 seconds ahead of freshman Connor Martin (Fairport, N.Y.), who was second in 26:48. Junior Jeff Herbert (Somerville, N.J.) placed fifth (27:23), freshman Ryan Shon (Miller Place, N.Y.) was 10th (27:42) and junior Ben Hebdon (Groton, N.Y.) was 11th (27:43). There were 32 runners in the men's race.
Radzik, meanwhile, won the women's 6,000 meter race with a time of 22:52. She was 26 seconds ahead of senior Stacy Kramer (Loudonville, N.Y.) , who was second in 23:18. Junior Taryn Menard (Cicero, N.Y.) was seventh (24:57), freshman Carissa DeMelfi (Shirley, N.Y.) was ninth (25:15) and junior Mary Tursi (Staten Island, N.Y.) was 13th (25:43). There were 29 runners in the women's race.
Binghamton returns home for the Binghamton Invitational on Saturday at 11 a.m.
