Radzik earns All-Northeast Region Cross Country honors
BOSTON, Mass.-- Freshman Katie Radzik (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) placed 23rd in the women's race and earned All-Northeast Region honors, highlighting the Binghamton cross country teams' performances in the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Saturday at Franklin Park in Boston.
In the team standings, Binghamton was 19th out of 37 squads in the women's meet and 26th out of 33 teams in the men's race.
The top 25 runners in both the men's and women's races receive All-Northeast Region honors. Radzik, who covered the 6K course in a time of 21:39, is the first men's or women's runner from Binghamton to finish in the top 25 of a regional race since the program moved up to the NCAA Division I level in 2001.
Senior Stacy Kramer (Loudonville, N.Y.) was the Bearcats' second runner in the women's race, placing 87th (22:51). Freshman Ryan Shon (Miller Place, N.Y.) was the Bearcats' top finisher on the men's side, placing 121st in the 10K race with a time of 33:14.
The cross country teams conclude their seasons next Saturday at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
