country squads compete in Lehigh Paul Short Run
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshmen Gerald
McDonald (Pleasantville, N.Y.) and Ashley
Horton (Candor, N.Y.) highlighted the Binghamton Cross
Country teams' performance at the Lehigh Paul Short Run on Friday
afternoon. The men placed 24th out of 41 teams while the women
were 22nd out of 47 teams.
McDonald finished 84 out of 270 runners in the men's race, completing
the 8,000-meter course in a time of 25:43. He was followed by
Ugolino (West Hurley, N.Y.) who finished 123rd (26:04)
and sophomore Craig
Coon (Penfield, N.Y.) who placed 134th (26:09).
On the women's side, Horton
finished 67th in the 317-runner field, completing the 6,000-meter
course in a time of 22:05. Following Horton were freshman Renee
Blair (Beacon, N.Y.) finishing 132nd (22:54) and junior
Radzik (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) placing 150th (23:06).
"This was a vast improvement
from last years race here," coach Annette Acuff said. Last
year the men placed 35th and the women were 25th in this meet.
Villanova won the men's race while Princeton captured the women's
Binghamton will return to action on Oct. 13th at the Albany Invitational.
