Radzik named America East Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Conference Release

VESTAL, N.Y.-- Freshman Katie Radzik (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) has been named the America East Conference Women's Athlete of the Week for Sept. 6-12. It was the first weekly cross country honor that the conference has announced this season.

Radzik won the women’s title at the Binghamton University Invitational this past Saturday. She covered the 5,000-meter course in 18:21 and in the process, she finished 17 seconds ahead of the second place runner. It marked the second win in as many weeks for Radzik. The previous week, she won the Colgate Harry Lang Invitational.

“I’m really impressed with Katie right now,” head coach Annette Acuff said. “She is a very smart racer with a great work ethic. She is very good tactically on the course and is driven to succeed. She takes good care of herself off the course and makes sure she does all of the little things well.”

Binghamton competes in the Lehigh Paul Short Run on Oct. 1.
