Northeast Region Poll
VESTAL, N.Y.--For the first time since moving up to the NCAA
Division I level seven years ago, Binghamton's men's and women's
cross country teams are ranked in the Northeast Region Preseason
Poll. The women are ranked No. 13 while the men's team checks
in at No. 14.
The number of programs in the
Northeast Region varies from year to year and not every squad
enters the Regional Championship Meet. Last season, 34 men's
teams and 36 women's squads competed at the Nov. 10 event. The
Bearcats finished a program-best 16th in the women's meet and
21st in the men's race.
So far this season, the Bearcats have gotten off to a solid start.
At the season-opening Baltimore Metro Cross Country meet, senior
Katie Radzik and junior Chris Gaube swept the individual
titles. In addition, Binghamton won the men's team title.
Other top runners for the women have been senior Jamie Schulte,
sophomore Ashley Horton, freshman Ryann Cretney
and senior Jennifer Hastings. On the men's side, sophomores
Erik van Ingen and Andrew Ugolino, senior Adam
Hill and sophomore Adam Quinn have been a part of
the lead pack.
Both squads head to the Buffalo Stampede on Saturday at 11:30
