Complete Northeast Region Poll

VESTAL, N.Y.--Boistered by their strong performances in the opening two meets, Binghamton's men's and women's cross country teams are ranked in the first week of the Northeast Region Poll. The women remain ranked No. 13 from the preseason poll, while the men's team improves one slot to No. 13.

The number of programs in the Northeast Region varies from year to year and not every squad enters the Regional Championship Meet. Last season, 34 men's teams and 36 women's squads competed at the Nov. 10 event. The Bearcats finished a program-best 16th in the women's meet and 21st in the men's race.

The Bearcats built off their opening success with a strong performance at the annual UB Stampede Invitational at Beaver Island State Park on Grand Island. Sophomore Erik van Ingen and junior Chris Gaube finished in first and second place respectively, while senior Katie Radzik came in third for the women. The men placed first out of eleven teams while the women were fourth out of ten squads.

Other top runners for the women have been senior Jamie Schulte, sophomore Ashley Horton, freshman Ryann Cretney and senior Jennifer Hastings. On the men's side, sophomores Erik van Ingen and Andrew Ugolino, senior Adam Hill and sophomore Adam Quinn have been a part of the lead pack.

Both squads head to the Lehigh Paul Short Run on Oct. 3, starting at 11:00 a.m.
