Cross Country competes in NCAA East Regional Championships
Men's place 15th and the women come in 20th

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Junior Chris Gaube highlighted the Binghamton Cross Country teams performance at the NCAA East Regional Championships on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park in New York. Gaube finished an impressive 39th place out of 239 of the regions best runners. The men as a team finished 15th of 33 squads, while the women placed 20th of 33 teams.

Gaube completing the 8,000-meter course in a time of 33:08.7. He was followed by sophomore Casey Quaglia who came in at 81st place (34:05.4), sophomore Andrew Ugolino who placed 83rd (34:07.4), sophomore Adam Quinn who placed 87th (34:16.2), and senior Adam Hill who finished 94th (34:23.9).

The women ran as a pack, and all finished within half a minute of each other. Senior Jamie Schulte led the women, placing 100th out of a field of 247. She finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 23:40.9. Schulte was followed by sophomore duo Ashley Horton and Alicia Finger who placed 102nd and 111th, with times of 23:43.3 and 23:54.7 respectively. Close behind was freshman Ryann Cretney who placed 113th (23:55.8), and senior Jennifer Hastings who finished 123rd with a time of 24:07.0.

Providence claimed the women's title and Iona won the men's race.

Binghamton will compete in their last meet at the ECAC/IC4A Championships held in the Bronx, N.Y. on Saturday, November 22.
