Binghamton women's cross country 2nd at New Hampshire Invitational; Men 10th

DURHAM, N.H.--Binghamton women's cross country placed three runners in the top-10 and four in the top-15 to place second as a team at the New Hampshire Wildcat Invitational Saturday. The host Wildcats topped the 12-team field with 55 points, followed by Binghamton (84), Stony Brook (100), UConn (104) and Harvard (138) to round out the top five teams.

Junior Erica Angell (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./ Speckenkill) covered the 5,000 meters in 18:08.80 to finish second among 94 runners. Angell crossed two seconds behind the race winner, Kristen Meyer of UConn. Classmate Stacy Kramer (Loudonville, N.Y./ Colonie Central) was fifth in 18:21, junior Kathryn Murnane (Rockville Center, N.Y./ Oceanside) finished ninth in 18:33.62 and senior Lindsey Bohrer-Yardley (Oneida, N.Y./ Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) placed 13th (18:43.54).

The men were 10th out of 11 teams, totalling 242 points. New Hampshire won the meet with 53 points, followed by Harvard (65), Maine (96), Albany (120) and UConn (126) in the top five. Junior Prahlad Genung (Afton, N.Y./ Afton Central) was the lone runner to crack the top half, finishing 34th among 83 runners after covering the 8,000 meters in 26:44.33.

Both teams return home for their only home competition of the season next Saturday. The Bearcats will host Syracuse and Colgate beginning at 11 a.m.
