New Softball Complex planned for 2012 The Binghamton softball program will soon have a brand new multi-million dollar complex, located on campus. The construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2011 and be completed prior to the 2012 season. The new softball field will be located just north of the Bearcats Sports Complex, adjacent to the Events Center, and will feature the following amenities: Synthetic turf outfield, clay-dirt mix infield Stadium seating with 280 chairbacks, 380 seats total Professional-style dugouts with storage closet and bathrooms Bullpens with batting cages down each foul line Press box and sound system Dimensions of 200-210-200 Eight-foot outfield fence Lights for night play "We are very excited about the new facility. It is going to be a venue that will assist with our recruiting efforts, create an environment that will generate support from the community and fans, as well as be a great resource for our student-athletes.
