Vitello and Glezen named to America East All-Conference softball teams

VESTAL, N.Y.--Junior second baseball Nicole Vitello (Olean, N.Y.) and freshman catcher Devin Glezen (Hallstead, Pa.) have been named to the 2005 America East All-Conference softball teams. Vitello is a repeat selection to the second team while Glezen makes an appearance on the All-Rookie Team.

Vitello overcame a slow start to finish the season with a team-best seven home runs and 28 RBI. The seven home runs ties the career high that she hit during her sophomore season.

"Nicole got back into a groove toward the end of the season," head coach Holly Brown said. "She continues to be one of our biggest offensive threats."

Glezen started all but three games this season, hit three home runs and had 14 RBI. She also finished the season strong, homering in two of her last three games.

"Devin had a great first year," Brown said. "She was one of our most consistent players and has helped us out in a number of ways."

Binghamton finished the 2005 season with a 12-26 record (5-13 in the America East Conference).
