Plemon, DeLuca, Tucker and Marsteller cited for academic and athletic excellence
VESTAL, N.Y.-- Senior catcher Deannie Plemon, senior first baseman Stephanie DeLuca, junior outfielder Meghan Tucker and sophomore pitcher Rhoda Marsteller have been named to the America East Spring Academic Squad for the 2011 softball season. Tucker is a first-time selection. She has earned second-team all-conference honors the past two seasons and was named to the America East All-Tournament Team last month. She tied for third on the team this year with six home runs and was third with 23 RBI.
Marsteller was also named to the America East All-Tournament Team after going 1-1 with a 1.02 ERA in 13.1 innings of work in three games. For the season, Marsteller led Binghamton with 10 wins and 117.1 innings pitched.
"We are very happy to have all four players on the Spring Academic Squad," head coach Michelle Burrell said. "They have each worked hard both on and off the field this year and deserve a lot of credit."
