Boston, Mass. -- Host Boston University (25-18, 9-2 AE) swept Binghamton (21-14, 6-8 AE) 7-3, 3-1 in America East softball action on Saturday afternoon.
Boston's Emily Roesch hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh of game one to lift the Terriers to victory. Binghamton's Chelsea Horne and Meghan Tucker each knocked in a run in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 3-3 and extend the game to the bottom of the seventh, where Roesch would later homer.
Junior catcher Deannie Plemon hit a solo home run to lead off the top of the fourth inning for the first run of the game. Binghamton would take the 1-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth before Boston's Rachel Moeller hit a three-run home run to take the lead.
Boston's Cassidi Hardy earned the win, pitching a complete game and striking out 14 batters.
In the nightcap, Boston scored twice in the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth to knock of Binghamton 3-1. The Bearcats were able to muster a run in the top of the sixth, taking advantage of two Terrier errors in the frame.
On the day, Horne was 3-for-6 and Plemon registered two hits.
Binghamton and Boston University will play the series finale at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
