MORAGA, Calif. - Binghamton (0-2) dropped a pair of games at the Gael Classic on Friday, losing to Brown (1-0) 9-1 and also falling to host St. Mary's (2-9) 8-0. The Bearcats will play a total of five games this weekend in their season-opening tournament in the Bay Area of California.

Junior shortstop Amanda Asay broke the scoring open in the second inning with a two-run home run and finished the day 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Senior center fielder Sandy Meadows produced the lone run for the Bearcats by hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth, the third long ball of her career.

Junior Cyrilla Suker took the loss on the mound for the Bearcats against Brown, but did strike out six batters in 5.1 innings.

Freshman Brittany Linton earned the win for St. Mary's in the nightcap by throwing six innings, striking out five, while allowing four hits and no runs.

St. Mary's led Binghamton 1-0 going into the bottom of the fifth but posted four runs in that inning and three in the sixth to put the game away.

Junior Jenna Smith collected three hits for the Gaels and junior Katherine Delpit knocked in two runs.

Binghamton committed four errors in the loss to the Gaels.

The Bearcats will get another shot at each of these two teams tomorrow, playing Brown at noon and then St. Mary's at 6 p.m.
