Emily Cotcamp hired as Binghamton assistant softball coach
VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton softball program has announced the hiring of Emily Cotcamp as an assistant coach. She joins a staff which includes first-year head coach Michelle Burrell and assistant coach Meredith Nelles.
Cotcamp was an assistant coach at Fairfield University from 2005-08. She worked primarily as the pitching coach. During that time, the Stags advanced to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament twice.
A 2005 graduate of Lehigh University, Cotcamp was named the Patriot League Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore and senior. She was also a three-time NFCA first-team All-Mid Atlantic Region selection and was the MVP of the 2005 Patriot League Tournament.
For the past decade, Cotcamp has worked at several pitching and hitting camps as a coach. She has also conducted numerous individual pitching lessons.
"We are happy to have Emily join our staff," Burrell said. "I think she is going to do really great things, not only with our pitchers but with the rest of our position players as well."
"I'm happy to be here at Binghamton," Cotcamp said. "I am hoping to help Michelle and the rest of the staff build a successful program here."
