Newark, Dela. - Delaware (15-14) scored two runs in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie and defeat Binghamton (5-23) 4-2 in a non-conference game on Thursday.
Michelle Grap singled in Samantha Pettie for Delware in the fifth that proved to be the eventual game-winning run.
Amanda Stacevicz pitched five scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory.
Michelle Kenney and Amanda Nyisztor each had two hits for Delaware.
Junior pitcher Cyrilla Suker took the loss for Binghamton. She struck out six batters and only allowed two earned runs.
Senior Sandy Meadows collected two hits for Binghamton.
The Bearcats will return home to the state of New York with a three-game series at home against Maine this weekend. The Bearcats will begin the series with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
